The BioPlus System
The BioPlus System is an environmentally-friendly tool for stimulating the biological activity of soil and promoting plant production.
Used alongside good soil and crop management – including soil testing, nutrient balancing and organic matter retention – the BioPlus System can reduce costs and increase yields. It does not replace traditional fertilisers and inputs. Rather, it works by improving the effectiveness of current inputs.
The BioPlus System works in two ways. It stimulates the multiplication and activity of beneficial soil microorganisms – many of which are dormant because of poor soil condition. And it enhances plant production, through faster germination and plant growth.
It also reduces dependence on high levels of nitrogen fertiliser, by increasing the efficiency of any nitrogen applied, and by stimulating nitrogen-fixing microorganisms already present in the soil.
The BioPlus System is a cost-effective tool, which “boosts” the effects of good farm management.
How does the BioPlus System work?
Soil is fundamental to the successful production of the crops and pasture that form the basis of New Zealand’s agriculture industry. Yet many of our traditional farming practices are detrimental to soil structure and the biological activity within soil.
The BioPlus System is a liquid mix of enzymes, vitamins, hormones and other biological factors. When applied to the soil, this mix of bio-catalysts stimulates microorganism activity.
- Once activated, the microorganisms benefit the soil by:
- Decomposing crop residues and releasing nutrients;
- Improving soil structure and aeration;
- Enhancing water absorption, retention and drainage;
- Breaking down toxic chemical residues in soils;
- Improving soil fertility, through the freeing up nutrients from soil reserves and “tied-up” fertiliser;
- Increasing fertiliser efficiency; and
- Improving the soil’s nutrient holding capacity.
The microorganism activity also benefits crops and pasture directly, through:
- Fixing nitrogen from the air into the soil for plant use;
- Improving nutrient uptake by roots, thereby promoting plant growth;
- Increasing plant vigour and resistance to insects and diseases;
- Faster seed germination and faster-growing, healthier plants – resulting in more uniform crops and greater yields; and
- Higher protein and energy levels in crops and pasture, benefiting livestock growth rates.
As the biological activity in your soil increases, it should require less fertiliser, herbicides and pesticides, while achieving higher yields.

Bioplus comes in two different size packs
The BioPlus System costs $27/ha and can be sprayed on conventionally or applied through a pivot irrigator. It is suitable for all types of New Zealand agricultural – arable, dairy, pastoral and horticulture.
1. A 3.78 litre Pack (1 US Gallon) - Total Cost $280 + GST
Please note for your calculations on how much you will require:
a) We recommend an application rate of 378ml/ha.
b) The above pack will cover 10 ha which is equivalent to $28.00+GST/ha (plus application spreading costs).
c) Total cost for 10 Hectares is therefore $280 + GST
2. A 9.45 litre Pack (2.5 US Gallons) - Total Cost $700+ GST
This pack will cover 25 ha.
